About The Founder
Krystal Phillips is a Jamaican-American womenswear designer based in New York, with over 15 years of experience in the fashion industry. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Production Management, Krystal honed her expertise at renowned companies like Alexander Wang, Rent the Runway, and Macy’s before founding KAPHILL in 2019. Inspired by the rich style of her grandmother and father, she blends her Jamaican heritage with modern aesthetics, creating clothing that celebrates women who live exceptionally well.
Krystal describes KAPHILL as both a personal and creative journey. After co-founding her first brand with her sister in 2014, she realized she wanted to carve her own path, building a brand rooted in love, joy, and community. For her, clothing is more than fashion—it’s a canvas for self-expression. As a mother to her daughter Avery, KAPHILL is also a tribute to the generations of women in her family who exemplified resilience and living fully.
